Eighteen by Twenty-four

The Fundamental
(18″ x 24″) [Marker]
Depicts the foundational elements of our reality, the masculine and feminine principles, here contrasted by the black and white colours. This opposition occurs throughout nature in countless forms. For example: the hot and the cold, the dry and the wet, the active and the passive. It is this opposition that gives rise to manifestation.

Transmission // Jupiter Implied
(18″ x 24″) [Marker]
Depicts benevolent beings expressing the laws of nature which unify the entire cosmos. With golden tongues and perfectly grooving gears they speak the true words which bring joy to the world.

The Mountain // Pink Dawn
(18″ x 24″) [Marker]
Depicts a mountain as a the harmonious interplay of masculine and feminine energies. Around the mountain life emerges. Trees, bodies of water, grasses, gasses and angelic beings. Upon the stillness of the mountain the unconditional, represented by pink, is presented.

Planets // Master of the Galaxy
(18″x24″) [Marker]
Depicts the influences of the planets on the individual. We are a product of our environment. Here, trails lead from the each planet to colour the Earth-dweller. While I can not say whether or not astrology has any real validity, I do find the concepts fun to contemplate.
Shape and Colour, Pattern.
These are the forces of nature.

The Creative Will
(18″x24″) [Marker]

Patience and Effort
(18″x24″) [Marker]
An exercise in such things. Inspired by the Buddhist idea of the ten (perfections) paramis: generosity, virtue, renunciation, wisdom, effor, patience, truthfulness, resolve, loving kindness, equanimity.

Transfiguration
(18″x24″) [Marker + Digital Editing]
Created over a four day period while meditating on the idea of the transfiguration, that is, dissolving into light. The original artwork is a different colour scheme all together and not arranged into the ‘comic book’ square like seen above.

The Guardians of the Flame
(18″x24″) [Marker]
Pays tribute to the mother figures who keep the creative fire burning through out

Rainbow Bridge
(18″x24″) [Marker]
