day 47 : Fart Face

How necessary it is to play. I can forget at times, or be unmotivated. But what a wonderful experience to let go of the woes and play.

Today I sat in the park surrounded by friends. With a gentle breeze and the sun squeezing my skin I sang and painted. How nice to play.

There is a levity that comes with letting go. When I surround myself with friendly faces and co-create. We gather, wherever we may find ourselves emotionally, and bond over our playing. As we sing, we let go of the worry. We sing with freedom, each note relieving stress. Each note a step towards freedom and joy. The act itself is freeing.

As I paint I pour my heart into the canvas. It is fun. It is for the joy of creating. Reminding me that life is for the joy of living.

It is a gift to be able to press pause. All the aggression, the frustration and condemnation that the world presents, is left lonely for a moment as we gather and celebrate with play.

We smile together all the while expressing the will freedom.

There is a time for seriousness and there is a time for play. As I dive into play I revitalize. I energize. I reconnect to my inner child. I remember what it’s like to exist without fear.

I engage in play with friends. They bring out my silly. For the sake of joy itself. We compete in a game of smiles. We love each other while we conspire to make laugh.

To play is to connect to the innocence that you know or once knew. It is not reserved for children. It is for fortunate adults as well. For those who have not lost touch with their sense of wonder and creativity.

We create alternate universes where our dreams and wild ideas can live. We surrender to the imagination. We let ourselves become lost in a world of our making.

The best of us make these dreams real. We play and pull the best parts back with us. To bring happiness back into the heavy. We play to reconnect to the love in our hearts.

It takes courage to play. It is the deferral of our own judgements to our inner explorers. It is a place where we can discover the alternate. Where we can make mistakes and learn new things. We can learn about ourselves.

With friends, real friends, we can safely play. Like children in a park we enjoy the simple.

I am lifted from my sadness when I play. I take on characters and dress in costume. I sing songs, and skip along as the world becomes what it was not.

Play is essential to my well being. It is freeing. It is one of the gifts of life.

There is plenty of drama and anger and sadness in the world. I am okay to do away with that for a day and invite people into the play. Invite people into a new way of being that is light and freeing.

Let go of your tears and dance with me. Move in a way that makes you feel free.

Fear not the judgements of concerns of your peers. This play has no ratings or critiques. This play is for you to reach deeper within so you might remember what it means to be free,

Join me in the liberty of loving acceptance.

Show up as you are, as you are meant to be.

It is a privilege I have, to be able to play. To step away from the work and the toil, dig my feet into the soil and sing. It is something I give thanks for deeply today.

As the sun’s rays shine upon me I celebrate the levity I feel. I try my best to extend this welcome to others. While smiles and inclusive songs I encourage others to join in this way.

It is an honour to serve the world in this way, to remind them to play. To remind them that there is a joy in life that requires no doctorates or degrees. It costs nothing to feel free.

Sing with me. Find me under the tree giving my worries to the breeze.

Find yourself in the depths of your creativity. See what emerges when you let go of the fears and allow the inner child to reveal the ways that you feel.

There is no pressure to be. It is an allowing for your natural expression. Play is not hard. It is natural. Allow yourself to be what you are.
